I took my first pole class in 2013. Being in a space in which I was not only allowed but encouraged to be sexy without apology or embarrassment felt revolutionary to me. At the time, I was a working single mother, so it was several years before I was able to come to class regularly, but in 2015 I began training seriously, and within the past year I have completed pole instructor training through Discoveries Dance (ACE, AFAA, PFA, and PDC approved) and have expanded from training to teaching and performing as well. I view pole dance as emotional/personal work as much as it is physical work. I can't think of any way I would rather spend my time than helping other dancers achieve their goals, surpass their own expectations, create space to love their bodies, and connect with one another through this uniquely powerful and empowering form of movement. I can't wait to dance with you!
