Are you trying to get rid of your dance pole or stripper heels, but have no idea where to sell such a thing? This is a common question I get from students who have spent good money on a pole or stripper heels and find themselves in need to get rid of them. Here are 5 tips to help you sell your pole stuff!
Tip # 1 - Local Pole and Aerial Studios
Contact any local pole studios in town and let them know! I always have students in the market to buy a pole for their house, so if they can buy a used one locally for a discount, even better. A lot of studios won't mind you posting the information on their FB page or on a flyer at their studio. Just ask before doing so.
Tip #2 - Facebook Pole Garage Sale Groups
Post it on the Pole Garage Sale Groups on Facebook! There are groups on FaceBook that are made for this reason exactly. A few are listed below to get you started with:
Pole Dance Garage Sale
Texas Pole Community Garage Sale
Pole Dance Garage Sale for USA
Tip #3 - Local Performers
Contact local Burlesque troops or aerial performance groups. Depending on where you live, you might have performers living in your area that would use such things as poles, sexy shoes, and costume items. It might be a long shot but worth trying out if you haven't any luck with the above options. A simple google search should show any local Burlesque groups as well as Facebook.
Tip #4 - Craigslist
I have had luck selling poles on Craigslist. Shipping on most poles is usually around $100 so people are willing to drive an hour or two to pick up a pole in a near by city or think about if you would be willing to drop it off for the buyer.
Tip #5 - Local Bars, Dance Clubs, and Gentleman Clubs
Local bars and dance clubs are starting to be interested in having a pole in their space so there is no harm in asking if you know of a club with a perfect spot for you pole to be installed. Gentleman Clubs might also be interested and/or would allow you to drop off a flyer to advertise to any of the dancers interested in purchasing one for their own personal use.
And when all else fails there is always donation! I have found so many pairs of professional stripper heels that look brand new for under $20 at Goodwill, Salvation Army and Thrift Stores. Some Goodwill stores also have auction items which a dance pole would most likely go into.
Hope this helps and good luck!
